Kate's new friend, Sarah Ibendahl, was there because of her son, Benjamin, who was in the hospital for an auto-immune condition. Sarah also recalled waiting far too long for the knot to be tied. Sarah had been waiting a bit longer than Kate, nearly a full decade, for her now-husband Ralph to give her the engagement ring. According to Sarah, she and the Duchess connected over their wait for marriage and their husbands' lack of urgency.
